We (Fabian, 11 months, Benedikt and Helena) went to the Rotondo hut.in autumn 2000. The 3/4 hours walk from Oberstafel was problem-free, but turned out to be a considerable carrying task (Helena with Fabian, me with the complete remainder). Here a picture of the ascent:

Fabian on the sun deck of the Rotondo hut: Here he chasing Christina, host of the Rotondo hut.

Already an inspired climber at the age of 11 months .Up hill and down dale on the snow to the sector " Reservoir ":

In the evening in the hut: Tossing "Primo" parts on the soil and pick them up again.

We didn't face any problems on our trip to the Rotondo hut. The altitude (approx. 2600m) was no problem for Fabian.
As Benedikt is the hut representative for the SAC we know Adriano and Christina well and also have been at the hut several times before. The possibility to use the kitchen was very important for us. In addition the hut was only little frequented during our visit.
Please keep in mind that small children need a higher level of protection against heat or cold as well as sunlight compared to adults. Carrying everything a small child needs fills your rucksack to the top and therefore it was not more than just a visit of the hut.
