The Rotondo hut offers ideal conditions for courses and camps. The following paragraphs describe the available infrastructure and give some suggestions what can be done in and around the hut.
The environment of the hut is very well suitable for avalanche- and ski touring courses. The way to the hut and the easier approaches are relatively simple and save. The more difficult ascents can be quite challenging. A selection of routes is described here in this guide.

In the Climbing Garden, sector hut
In the area around the Rotondo hut there are several worthwhile climbs and alpine routes.
Close to the hut you'll find several climbing gardens, with many worthwhile routes at different degrees of difficulty. These climbs are also suitable for climbing courses as well as climbing with children.
The hut also serves as a convenient base for different worthwhile alpine routes .

Large areas around the Rotondo hut are covered with glaciers. Most glaciers are relatively flat with only a few crevasses. Additionally there are several steep, but relatively harmless snow fields, where the different techniques of preventing from a fall on snow fields can be practiced, as for example the snow field below the Leckisattel. Below the Leckihorn there are also some steeper snow-free ice slopes. Dramatically looking seracs as for example at the upper Grindelwald glacier are however not available. Some ice routes are described here.

In the summer Work & Climb camps and hut weeks with young people are realized. These pages give an impression of these camps.

The Rotondo hut offers the following possibilities for groups.
If desired groups can be put together in the sleeping rooms, whenever possible. Sleeping rooms of different size are available (10-25 beds per room). All beds are equipped with blankets and large pillows.
