Walk from Realp (1538 m) (maps of Switzerland and the region to locate the hut) partially on a good trail, partially on a military route in direction to Oberstafel. Turn right at point 2155 m. Form here on a marked trail around the Helig Egg to the hut. 3 1/2 hours from Realp. At the military head office in Andermatt (Tel + 41 (041) 888 81 11) you can get the permission (free of charge) to drive the military route to Oberstafel (2220,5 m). From Oberstafel it will take you 3/4 hours on a good trail to get to the hut. Other possibilities to reach the hut are described in the hiking section of this guide. GPS tracklog and maps here.
From Realp (1538 m) (maps of Switzerland and the region to locate the hut) through the Witenwasseren valley in direction Oberstafel. From 'Hintere Schweig' a relatively avalanche-safe way on is marked with 33 poles. A sketch of the winter ascent incuding the azimuths is found here and a GPS tracklog here. Less strenuous ascent through the lonely Witenwasseren valley (at least in winter). 3 1/2 -4 hours. This ascent is suitable also for snow shoe runners.
